Pre-K and Primary

The first eight years of life are instrumental in setting children on a path to success or conversely, in allowing achievement gaps to widen, forcing students, teachers and administrators to play a continuous game of catch up over later years. We believe that the primary school years are critical to ensuring that children develop a solid foundation in literacy, math, social-emotional skills, as well as strong engagement in learning.

Center-based learning

Students are taught by highly qualified and certified teachers in small groups of 3-4 to allow for differentiation of instruction and content. Centers focus on the student’s individual goals for developing skills in communication, reading, multi-sensory math, handwriting, and technology.

collaboration

Relationship development and self regulation skills are at the core of every child’s social success. Social skills are emphasized through research-based approaches, organized activities, and developmentally appropriate practices to promote self-regulation and social thinking.

community

Even at the youngest age, our students gain a strong sense of Pinnacle’s core values: kindness, respect, community, and gratitude. From brain-based yoga breaks to time spent with a high school buddy, our little ones know they are part of a school “family”.
