Darryl Brown:
CEO/OWNER
Darryl is a Financial Services and CPG Executive with over 30 years experience in Leadership, P&L Management, Sales and Account Management. He served as President, Americas with American Express, where he ran the company’s Corporate Payments business, selling, marketing, distributing and corporate lending programs. Prior to that he served as American Express’, Executive Vice President & General Manager of Global Corporate Payments. He is an Advisor and Board Member with Datanomers, an innovative provider of Intelligent Statistical Machines (AI).
Katrina Hong:
Head of School
Katrina holds a Masters Degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Texas. She has experience in Administration and over 10 years in education. She is certified in the areas of Biology, Health, and Library Media Sciences. Katrina oversees grades 7-12 on the campus and has been with the Pinnacle Academy since 2016.
Joy Wortley:
Assistant Head of School
Joy is the Assistant Head of School. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, is a certified Dyslexia Interventionist, holds her teaching certification for ESE K-12, and has over 16 years of experience working with young children in an exceptional classroom setting. She is also certified in the Orton-Gillingham approach. Joy has provided treatment in applied behavior analysis and consults with families and professionals in the home, community, and school settings. She has been with the Pinnacle Academy since it opened in 2002.
Renee Hoppe:
Office Administrator
Renee began working in the classroom as a Teaching Assistant in 1996 has been working education administration for over 18 years. She enjoys working with students and families and engaging in the day-to-day life of the Pinnacle campus. Renee is also in charge of tuition and scholarship management. She has been with the Pinnacle Academy since 2017.
