Multi-Sensory Learning
The Elementary administration, parents, and faculty share the belief that a student who learns differently needs more than the general accommodations that are provided in traditional schools. Students who struggle with learning because of ADHD, dyslexia, or other language-based learning differences truly blossom when they are provided with small classes, special attention, goal-driven planning, and an individualized approach to learning. Using a multisensory approach, our faculty incorporates the elements of visual, auditory, and tactile-kinesthetic learning into every subject. The integration of project and brain-based learning approaches further enhances a strength-based learning model to deliver the most comprehensive curriculum possible.
We recognize that students with language-based learning differences may not be sufficiently supported with once-a-week tutoring and require daily, intense teaching techniques to meet their potential. Our blended model of research-based instructional approaches immerses the student in a learning experience that will build confidence and life-long skills. Multi-Sensory Structured Reading
MSSR is our signature program to highlight our student’s need for an intensive focus in the five essential components of reading. We believe that a daily emphasis on these areas will provide a strong foundation for reading across the years. Students participate in 45 minutes daily and are placed based on pre-assessment findings.
